We hired Centennial Painters to repaint the exterior of our home, and the results exceeded every expectation. Our house was eight years old and still had its original paint, but we wanted to completely transform it with a more timeless, classic look featuring a white body and black trim. The finished product is absolutely stunning. From the beginning, Eric and his team stood apart from every other company we contacted. Eric spent approximately 45 minutes carefully walking around our home, evaluating the condition of every surface, and explaining exactly what would be required to achieve the best possible result. Other companies were in and out within 15 minutes and provided very little explanation. Centennial Painters was also the only company that recommended fully priming the house before applying the new color. Although we selected Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint, which includes primer properties, Eric explained that the dramatic color change could still result in uneven coverage or spotting without a consistent undercoat. That level of knowledge, honesty, and attention to detail gave us confidence that they were focused on doing the job correctly rather than simply doing it quickly. Our painters, Dennis and Giovanni, spent six full days meticulously putting their experience and craftsmanship to work. They took extraordinary care to protect our windows, patio, landscaping, and everything surrounding the home from paint, spills, and overspray. Their preparation was thorough, their work was precise, and their attention to detail was exceptional. Dennis and Giovanni are truly masters of their craft. The lines are clean, the coverage is flawless, and the transformation of our home is remarkable. It looks better than we imagined it could. We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome and could not recommend Centennial Painters more highly. Anyone considering painting their home should make Centennial Painters one of their first calls. Their professionalism, expertise, preparation, and quality of workmanship are on another level.+1Posted on Google![]()

Centennial Painters did a great job on the exterior of my house; for, what I thought, was a very competitive price. I checked out a few painters in the market and I’m glad that I went with Eric and his team. Hi crew came in, power washed, primed, caulked and painted my entire house in a day. My house is a one-story ranch - so maybe not as big as some other houses out there. But I’m glad I hired Centennial Painters and I’ve already referred them to my mom for some of her interior painting needs.Posted on Google![]()

Centennial Painters did an amazing job on my home. Eric and Kristi were fabulous to work with. Eric even came out during a spring snowstorm to give me a bid. They were very professional and communicated beautifully. They saved me from a bad painting experience, swooped in and saved the house from a bad paint job with the prior painter. Plus the quality of prep work was outstanding. Thank you Eric and Kristi. I couldn’t be more pleased. And your painters were so pleasant and professional, their quality of prep work and painting was exceptional. I strongly recommend Centennial Painters.+3Posted on Google![]()

Exterior painting has been a potential project for a long time. When we finally decided it was time, we called several painters for estimates and Centennial stood out. Eric Conrad came to do the estimate. He walked the property (some folks just looked up the house online and gave an estimate based on that) and took the time to note the repairs that needed to be made. He gave me flexible options on ways to save money on the project as well. He was up front about the repairs needed and that once his crew got in there, there may be more than what was estimated so i wasn't surprised with extra charges at the end. The crew showed up day one ready to go. All of the needed repairs were made, house caulked and sealed, and power washed to prep for paint. Before they left they said they would be back at 7AM. Usually when a contractor says that they really me 9:30 but Jimmy and his crew were right on time. I had to leave for an appointment. I was gone for barely an hour and a half. I that time they had everything taped off and the house was already half painted. When they were finished and gone, you would not have even known anyone was there. They took everything with them. There were no random pieces of tape or plastic left behind. The end result is amazing and I could t be happier.+2Posted on Google![]()

You won't go wrong if you hire Centennial Painters. Conscientious, professional painting They painted the interior of my mid-century modern home . . . it now looks now-century!
Signs Your Cabinet Paint Is Failing
At Centennial Painters, we use only professional-grade cabinet paints from Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Pittsburgh Paints to ensure beautiful finishes that withstand daily use.
These cabinet-specific coatings resist chips and scratches, withstand moisture, cure to a hard furniture-grade finish, and perform in Colorado's dry climate and intense UV exposure. Standard wall paint simply won't hold up.
Do your cabinets show signs of paint failure? Here are the most common issues we see:
- Paint feels sticky or tacky even months after application
- The finish shows every fingerprint and requires constant cleaning
- Doors stick to frames, especially during temperature changes or after cooking
- Paint has chipped or peeled around hardware and high-use areas
- Surface shows brush marks, roller texture, or an uneven sheen
- Color has yellowed or faded, especially on white or light cabinets near windows
- Paint scratches easily from normal contact with dishes, pots, or utensils
Using incorrect paint on cabinets often means redoing the entire project within 1-3 years. Investing in professional-grade products upfront saves money and frustration while delivering results that last a decade or more.

What Makes Cabinet Paint Different from Standard Wall Paint?
Durability Formulation
Cabinet paints contain higher resin content and specialized hardeners that cure to a furniture-grade surface. This hardness resists scratches, chips, and wear from daily door and drawer operation—abuse that wall paint cannot withstand. Premium cabinet paints cure harder in Colorado's dry climate, creating exceptionally durable finishes.
Self-Leveling Properties
Professional cabinet paints are formulated to flow and self-level, allowing brush marks and application texture to disappear as the paint dries. Wall paints lack these flow additives, leaving visible texture that looks acceptable on walls but appears unprofessional on smooth cabinet surfaces.
Superior Adhesion & Blocking Resistance
Quality cabinet paints cure to a hard finish that won't stick (called "blocking") even in warm weather or near heat-generating appliances. They also adhere tenaciously to properly prepared surfaces, resisting peeling on high-use cabinet edges where wall paint would fail.
Color Stability & Yellowing Resistance
White and light-colored cabinets demand paints that resist yellowing over time, especially near ovens, cooktops, and south-facing windows. Premium cabinet paints use advanced resin technology that maintains true color for years, while standard latex wall paints yellow noticeably within months.
What do professional painters use to paint kitchen cabinets?
These performance differences explain why we exclusively use Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel, Benjamin Moore Advance, and PPG Break-Through! for cabinet projects—not standard interior wall paints.
What Do Our Professional Painters Use to Paint Kitchen Cabinets?
We primarily recommend Sherwin-Williams' Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel for its exceptional durability and smooth finish, Benjamin Moore Advance when color accuracy and self-leveling properties are priorities, and PPG Break-Through! for bathrooms.
As a contractor, we partner with all three manufacturers, giving us access to professional product lines at pricing 20-30% below retail. We pass those savings directly to our clients. Our product recommendations are based solely on your cabinet material, desired finish, and specific project needs, never brand kickbacks or profit margins.

Best Cabinet Paint FAQs
Get answers about choosing the right cabinet paint and what to expect when working with Centennial Painters.
Consider your countertops, backsplash, flooring, appliances, natural light, and overall home style. Kristi offers complimentary color consultation for all cabinet projects, helping you select colors that complement existing elements while achieving your design vision. We can also test sample colors on your actual cabinet doors before final selection.
We can work with homeowner-purchased paint, though we recommend letting us source products for several reasons: our contractor pricing often beats retail costs, we ensure correct product selection and quantities, and we can consult directly with paint store technical representatives about color matching or application questions. That said, we're happy to use paint you've already purchased if it meets our quality standards.
Satin and semi-gloss are most popular for kitchen cabinets. Satin offers a softer, more contemporary appearance with good cleanability and subtle sheen. Semi-gloss provides maximum durability and easiest cleaning but shows surface imperfections more readily. We recommend sheen based on your aesthetic preference, cabinet condition, and how heavily your kitchen is used.
Yes, absolutely—for cabinets specifically. The performance difference between premium cabinet paints and standard wall paint is dramatic. Superior durability, self-leveling properties, yellowing resistance, and blocking resistance deliver results that last 10+ years versus 1-2 years for cheaper alternatives. The cost difference between premium and economy paint ($200-400 for a typical kitchen) is minor compared to the expense of repainting failed cabinets.
Cabinet paints cure in stages. Most are dry to the touch within hours and ready for light use within 24 hours. However, full cure—when the paint reaches maximum hardness and durability—takes 2-4 weeks depending on the product, temperature, and humidity. We provide specific care instructions for the first few weeks after painting to ensure your finish cures properly.
For the smoothest, most professional-looking cabinet finish, spray application is usually the best option.
Our painters will sometimes use brushes and rollers for small touch-ups, but for larger projects, they often leave visible brush marks, roller texture, or uneven sheen on cabinet doors and drawers.
